On the Grapevine

Grapes are the starting point of each and every wine.  They are the single most important factor in determining the characteristics and style of each wine.  Wines are classified from the type of grapes they are made from.

What color was the last wine you had?  If it was red or pick there is a very good chance that it came from red grapes, but if it was white the grapes were probably white as well

There are several attributes the differentiate one grape to the next.  The attributes will fall into two different categories: personality traits and performance factors.  Personality traits are the individual characteristics of a grape, for example the thickness of the skin.  Performance factors describe how the grape grows on the grapevine, how quickly it will ripen for harvesting.
